Aztec Day

Aztec Day
Aztec Day

Recently St. Andrews Year 6 students enjoyed Aztec Day. Dressed in Aztec-inspired costumes, students participated in a range of activities that provided opportunities to try new things, show off existing skills and work together in teams.

Teachers were really impressed at how sensible the children were as they prepared and cooked their delicious Aztec treats. They enjoyed using the new cooking facilities, and the room was buzzing with a MasterChef-style hubbub of busy activity. Everyone agreed that their favourite part was eating the food at the end (!) and washing it down with an ice-cold pineapple shake.

In the Aztec games, the children displayed great communication and teamwork in a rather challenging version of basketball/volleyball/football, with the added bonus that the losing team were spared the traditional Aztec punishment of being sacrificed to the gods!
