This week Isabel from Sb, explains what she has learned about the CAS program since she began her IB program last August.
When I was first introduced to CAS I have to say, I has very confused about what it exactly is and what the purpose behind the idea of it was. Nevertheless in the last couple of months since I have started with my CAS activities, I have discovered a wide range of new opportunities and activities. For example I started taking Muay Thai lessons as part of the activity section in CAS, however I quickly realized my passion for this sport and am now grateful for the opportunity CAS has given me.
In conclusion CAS pushes people out of their comfort zone in order to make them try new things like organizing the Haunted House for the Halloween fair or playing with refugees at the Good Shepherd Sisters Foundation. Furthermore it also raised my awareness of the environment around me as I had the opportunity to clean up a beach from polluting factors like straws, plastic bags and cigarette boxes. CAS brought out my creative side as well as opened my eyes to the fact that I can have an impact on people’s lives by simple making them laugh for a little while.
