Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is the absolute priority for every residential trip. We employ a rigorous, multi-layered approach to risk management that begins months before departure, ensuring that every external partner or organisation, environment and activity is vetted to the highest possible standards.

Our safety inspection, in which our Trip Leaders and Health and Safety Officers conduct mandatory site visits months in advance to identify and mitigate potential physical hazards at both accommodation and activity sites. During this phase, we liaise directly with the external organisation running the trip to gather and review their specific risk assessments and safety certificates, ensuring we partner exclusively with established companies that hold a history of high safety standards.
We recognise that water-based activities require an extra level of vigilance. To manage this, we ensure certified lifeguards supervise all water activities. Depending on the location and the nature of the activity, we either deploy our own qualified lifeguards to accompany the group or verify that the venue provides on-site, certified professionals to maintain a constant watch. This ensures that student safety in the water is never left to chance and is always managed by experts.

To provide a secure environment around the clock, our residential teams include specialised medical and security personnel. We travel with two dedicated nurses to manage health needs, administer medication, and provide immediate first aid if needed. Furthermore, we employ our own security guards to monitor the perimeter of our accommodation, ensuring the group remains safe and undisturbed during evening and overnight hours. This professional presence allows both students and staff to focus entirely on the educational and social benefits of the trip.

Safety is ultimately a collective responsibility, which is why communication is a cornerstone of our planning. Before departure, we compile a comprehensive Risk Assessment document that covers every facet of the journey and the trip itself. This document is the centrepiece of a mandatory staff meeting, during which every team member is briefed on emergency protocols and specific student needs. By ensuring all staff are aligned and informed before the trip begins, we create a coordinated and prepared environment that prioritises student welfare at every turn.
