High School: Back to school, for STA teachers STA teachers are back in school and using the Health App ATK Screening System. We will share more about our Health App soon as Mr Paul's Heads Lines outline more safety details in our opening plan. Back to school, for the teachers

As Mr Paul says in his Head’s Lines, we have now submitted our reopening plans to the MOE and OPEC. Once they have reviewed our plans and come to inspect our two campuses, they will then approve our reopening. We hope that this will be in the near future.

Today we welcomed all the High School teachers and Learning Support Assistants back into school, after a period when many have been working from home, so that we can work together to ensure that all of our processes will be in place and our classrooms ready to welcome the students back as soon as possible.

Mr Paul also outlines some of our planning, including the requirement for students to have a negative ATK test before coming to school each Monday and Wednesday morning, with teachers and Learning Support Assistants beginning this before coming to school this morning, registering their results on our new Health App.

We will share the details of this Health App soon, along with more details of our plans, but as you can see from the image above, this will be a very easy place for families to share their ATK test results. As part of the guidelines to reopening our campus, we will need to have updated vaccine status information for all of our students, staff, and parents. We request your help in completing all of the vaccination information within the ‘Vaccine status’ tab for children and parents. If your child hasn’t received a Covid vaccine, please be sure to also complete the consent section of the ‘Vaccine status’ tab. We will use this information to include or exclude your child from any future vaccination opportunities.

There will be more information about how parents will use the Health App in the coming days. Feel free to familiarise yourself with health.standrews.ac.th if you’re interested in seeing what’s coming soon.

As always, we will ensure both that we meet or exceed all MOE, BMA and MoPH standards of hygiene, social distancing and mask-wearing, to ensure that the school is as safe an environment as possible for us all, and that any students not in school will be able to continue to learn through the Virtual School, with lesson details for every lesson shared via Moodle and absent students also involved in lessons, via Google Meet, etc., as much as possible.

Sinopharm Opportunity

Last week our school signed up for a student vaccination opportunity to receive the Sinopharm vaccine with Chulabhorn Royal Hospital. This vaccine is being offered to young people aged 10 to 18 years old (the student must be born before 31 October 2011 to qualify). If your child is age appropriate and you are interested in this opportunity, we are seeking your immediate consent using the Health App within Moodle. In order to give consent, you will need to be signed into a parent Moodle account and let us know the following within the app:

  • Has your child already received a Covid vaccine?
  • If not, do you give consent for including your child in the list for vaccination opportunities with medical or government partners? (You can choose to not consent, consent for all age-eligible vaccination opportunities, or consent for only specific vaccines)

If your child meets the age eligibility criteria and you have consented to “all age-eligible vaccination opportunities” or specifically for Sinopharm, we will submit your child’s name to Chulabhorn Royal Hospital.

Pfizer Opportunities

Recently the government announced that it would allow vaccinations of 12 to 18 year old students with the Pfizer vaccine. As you know, we submitted all age-eligible student names where parents have shown they would be interested in receiving a Pfizer vaccination. We are working directly with MedPark Hospital, Samitivej Hospital, Bumrungrad Hospital as well as with the Office of Private Education Commission (OPEC). We are still waiting for a confirmation from all of these channels and will update you as soon as a date is confirmed. However, you may be contacted directly from the hospital so please monitor your inbox and SMS messages.

Please remember that all the school's live Google Calendars can be seen via Moodle: calendar.standrews.ac.th.
