Songkran Celebrations

The last day of Term 2 saw the students enjoying a Songkran celebration here at STA. It was wonderful to see so many students pour water on our statue to celebrate Songkran and take a moment of reflection. The students all enjoyed watching a video about Songkran put together by the Thai department, and then they enjoyed making crafts in their classes. It was fabulous to see them all brightly covered and excited about the day before enjoying a well-earned break.

STA welcomes New Families

On the first day of Term 3, we welcomed over 35 new students into our STA community. The students were taken to their classes and welcomed by the teachers, and then parents came into the Drama Studio for a talk by Mr Paul, introducing key staff members and discussing our mission statement and educational philosophy. It was great to see so many families attend, and on behalf of the whole STA community, welcome!

A special visitor in Year 1

Friday saw excitement in Year 1 as they had a unique visitor come and see them. It was none other than Percy the Park keeper with his pet Harry the Hedgehog. Percy is here to support the boys and girls with their writing, and he presented a very good Diary as an example. Welcome, Percy!

STA gets a revised Lunch Menu

Today saw the first day of the new school menu offered by Epicure. Being ‘Meat-Free Monday’, the students had a choice of pizza and vegetables and a very tasty curry. The menu will roll out for the rest of the week and be on a two week turnover. We are all looking forward to interesting and varied food coming our way in the next few days.

Mindful Sparks to offer a well-being session for Parents

A few weeks ago we held a PTG Coffee Morning in the Primary School to introduce current members of the PTG, and allow parents the opportunity to meet together. One thing that came out of the meeting was the message that parents are keen for school to start offering some of the parent activities that were previously so popular.

A few weeks ago Lily, a provider from Mindful Sparks, came into school to offer an introductory well-being session for staff. This was very well received. The session comprised some relaxation, meditation and basic yoga.

Here is what staff had to say:

Ms Selina has arranged for Lily to offer a free introductory session for parents on Thursday 28th April at 12.45pm in the Exam Room (Primary School - Library Building).

Register here if you would like to join this free session as places are limited. (Please note you will be required to bring a negative ATK with you to join the session).

If the session is popular we would be happy to offer this as a regular workshop.

We look forward to seeing some of you there!
