Hats off to Wow from the Class of 2022! Wow joined us in Year 10, completed the IGCSE and has risen to the challenge of the IB Diploma. Wow has been a big part of the St Andrews Volleyball, Football and Basketball Sports teams, and she now plans to pursue a degree in Medicine. Learn more about Wow's offers below.

Wow has received offers from some of the top universities in both the UK and Thailand.

UK

  • University of Bristol - Biology

  • University of Leeds - Biological Sciences, Biotechnology with Enterprise

Thailand

  • Chulalongkorn University - Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry (BSAC)

  • The Joint Medical Programme – Srinakharinwirot University and the University of Nottingham, UK)

Wow plans to pursue the Joint Medical Programme between Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand and the University of Nottingham in the UK. This is a unique opportunity and offer that spans across two countries.

Why did you want to study Medicine?

“Personally, being able to make a difference in someone’s life in a positive way is extremely fulfilling for me. I am also passionate about helping others and those in need. Having the chance to do this every day would definitely be rewarding, therefore pursuing a degree in Medicine is the perfect option for me.”

"When looking at universities and programmes that provide a degree in Medicine, I wanted to study both in Thailand and in the UK, so it took me quite a while to choose where to study. However, I discovered this interesting program: ‘Joint Medical Programme Srinakharinwirot and Nottingham University which allowed me to study in both countries, Thailand and the UK. This program is the perfect option for me to find new experiences and make use of the two languages that I am most familiar with. Being able to study in this program will give me the opportunity to come out of my comfort zone, developing my confidence by being independent when studying abroad but at the same time, having the chance to also study in my home country.  What is also interesting about this programme for me is that it provides a double degree programme where we will receive a ‘BMedSci’ degree from the University of Nottingham and an ‘M.D’ degree from Srinakharinwirot University. "

As part of this course, students take part in a 6-month preparatory course at Srinakharinwirot University before departing for preclinical studies at the University of Nottingham for 2.5 years. During their time in Nottingham, students study alongside their peers in the undergraduate medicine course and are expected to complete an honours year project in order to receive a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons) from the University of Nottingham. - Learn more about this fantastic course here.

Congratulations Wow! and Good Luck on the upcoming exams!
