Reflection and forward-thinking
Induction Day is the first day of Year 12 and allows our students to reflect on their learning jounreys so far and look forward the experiences ahead with guidance from Head of High School and Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning.
Year 12 students share their thoughts and concerns during this period of transition while our our IBDP and IBCP coordinators, address key questions, offering clarity on the pathways students have chosen and providing reassurance.
At St Andrews, we are proud of our strong support network, helping students tackle challenges with confidence and enthusiasm.
Navigating CAS, Service Learning, and beyond
A core component of the IB experience is the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) or Service Learning required. Our academic team highly familiar with the IB Programme expertly guided students through the expectations surrounding CAS and Service Learning, two aspects of the IB that prompt students to integrate their academic studies with their passions and engage with their community, fostering personal growth and paving the way for a well-rounded education.
While the Senior Studies programme is rigourous, we still encourage all students to continue with Extracurricular Activities (ECAs) available at St Andrews. Students have endless opportunities to engage, excel, and enjoy. From the Performing Arts and Music to Sports teams, Service opportunities, Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, and Model United Nations, there’s something for every student to explore. This diverse offering not only enriches their educational experience but also cultivates lifelong connections and skills.

A team built for the future
Team-building activities helps lay a strong foundation for trust among the group as we went over the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Teaching and Learning. As part of their Induction Day, students actively engage in discussions about managing their workload and commitments, reflecting on strategies to maintain balance during this exciting yet demanding chapter.

The Year 12s also play a university admissions game, setting a dynamic tone and inspiring them to think critically about their academic portfolios and steps to take after graduation.
They connect, share goals, and build bonds gearing up for the exciting academic journey ahead. With a supportive community behind them, we are confident that every student is set up for success when beginning Year 12.
