The Personal Project is the culminating activity for students in year 5 of MYP. The IB students had an opportunity to explore topics they are personally interested in and passionate about. They spent independent inquiry time investigating and developing products that allowed the students to express themselves academically and creatively. The Personal Project was a way for students to demonstrate what they learned in the MYP program, both in their subjects and in their approaches to learning.
As part of the Personal Project, students were required to select an idea, research that idea, and develop a product. While the IB students worked with a school IB teacher supervisor, the bulk of the project was completed outside of school hours. Students recorded their activity in a process journal and bought their hard work all together in a reflective and evaluative report in the end.
