NAE Share A Dream programme empowers Northbridge Secondary students to drive lasting change

Thanks to the platform, and regardless of what kind of social campaign is being run, activities can easily be tracked from start to completion, along with information on fundraising amounts, number of goods donated or total hours volunteered. This year the data shows how deeply our students care about the local and global community they live in.

150 combined hours have contributed to the transformation of one of our community partners' games room. Over $3,000 was raised for WIRES, an organisation that cares for animals that have been harmed by the bushfires and flooding in Australia. Not to mention various food sales with creatively made cakes, homemade jewellery sales and dodgeball events which raised money for our various community partners, supporting them in their efforts to address the UN’s SDGs in Cambodia and beyond.

Through each of the outreach activities, students have demonstrated exemplary planning and collaboration. They have shown perseverance and imagination, and are on the path to developing their own philanthropic profile.

Not only are the activities they are engaging in now having an impact on the world they live in but later, their contribution will be a valuable asset when applying for colleges around the world. Top universities are not only looking for academically gifted students, but ones who are also compassionate and globally conscious. This year’s SHaD stats show that they need look no further than NISC!
