Chinese Update

Children in all Chinese groups have had a productive week.

In Early years, Nursery learned the topic of 'people who help us'. They learned to know what doctors, policemen, fire fighters, teachers and nurses do to help. The children had a lot of fun role-playing of the many characters.

In Year 1 Great wall and Tian’an men group, the children were given a challenge to interview their friends and ask them what toys they have. They were also encouraged to do a presentation to introduce their friends to others. In Year 5 and Year 6 children also did presentations on their imaginary houses and cities.

Year 2 and Year 4 children focused on story learning. They learned to read, retell and rewrite stories. Both Year 2 and Year 4 children are able to use the key sentence patterns to write stories in Chinese now.

Children in the Summer Palace and the Lama Temple groups played games to memorise key words and key Chinese characters.
