Faculty member Patience Chu has been recognized by the Florida Chinese Teachers Association (FCTA) as a nominee for Teacher of the Year for her leadership in promoting the teaching of Chinese Language and culture within school and the community.
Ms. Chu teaches Chinese in the Upper School to grade 6th through 12th and serves as a 6th grade advisor. She has been a teacher for ten years and has been teaching at North Broward for three years.
Prior to becoming a teacher, Ms. Chu worked as a software engineer and worked at St. Andrew’s School where she launched the Lower School Mandarin program.
Say Ms. Chu, “I love seeing students bring the Chinese language to life. I am honored and humbled by this nomination and I feel encouraged by the recognition to continue to strive and do my best.”
The FCTA organization strives to promote the study, teaching, and learning of the Chinese language and culture on all educational levels, and to provide a network of support service to Chinese language teachers and Chinese language learners.
