Congratulations to the Winners of The Global Classroom 2015 Focus on Photography Competition This year’s Global Classroom photography competition challenged our young photographers to capture the spirit of adventure.

This year’s Global Classroom photography competition challenged our young photographers to capture the spirit of adventure.

Students in Year 4 to 13 spent the summer snapping away for the opportunity to have their work published as part of the Global Classroom 2015 calendar, which is shared with our schools and friends around the world.

We were very impressed by the high quality of our students’ submissions and in particular, their innovative and creative interpretations of the adventure theme. Every entry was displayed in an online gallery where our students were invited to vote for their favourite image, while the competition was judged by professional photographer, David Fisher.

“The standard of the students’ entries was pleasingly high. Many showed a technical skill of which any professional photographer would be proud,” David commented. “The winning photos stand out because they show a different view of the world with excellent execution and timing. It’s not always the unusual or special that makes a winning subject; it’s the way a subject is presented that can be interesting.”

He also had this advice for our young photographers; “My advice to you is to keep taking pictures as often as you can, and to learn the key lessons of framing and exposure. That way you will all continue to progress as photographers.

Thank you to all our students who participated either by submitting a photograph or casting their vote.

Congratulations to our winning photographers whose images will be published in The Global Classroom calendar later this year.
