Last week, the British School of Chicago celebrated the start of a significant and exciting new chapter for the school, with the groundbreaking ceremony for their second campus, the Roosevelt Campus in South Loop.

Rated as one of the top four private schools in Chicago, the British School of Chicago boasts strong academic results, with all graduates continuing to a four-year university. The new campus will enhance the student experience and allow more students to access the school’s premium education.

The school’s Roosevelt Campus is scheduled to open in September 2015 with capacity of more than 1100 seats from preschool through to grade 12. With a focus on middle and high school education, the new campus will complement the school’s already successful Eastman Campus in Lincoln Park, which will serve students from pre-school through middle school.

The Roosevelt Campus will provide students and teachers with an environment tailor-made for teaching and learning. The new campus will feature exceptional facilities to help our students flourish, including a recording studio, drama studio, IT and ingenuity stations, outdoor soccer field, fitness studio and full-sized gymnasium.

Mike Horton, Principal of the British School of Chicago, commented that the school is excited to become part of the vibrant South Loop community. “We are thrilled about our second campus and the expanded educational opportunities it will provide our students, our parents and our new community,” he said. “The South Loop is perfectly suited to enhance the education of our students. The museum campus is right at our doorstep. Our students will be able to learn amidst Chicago’s rich cultural heritage.”
