For us, wellbeing is the foundation that enables students to learn deeply, grow confidently and achieve their potential.
We know that when children feel safe, supported and understood, they are better equipped to engage with learning, build positive relationships and navigate challenge. Our approach to wellbeing is proactive, evidence‑informed and deeply embedded into daily school life.

Wellbeing and academic excellence go hand in hand. Creating the right conditions for learning means supporting students’ emotional health, confidence and sense of belonging alongside high quality teaching.
Through strong relationships, clear routines and personalised support, we help students feel calm, focused and ready to learn. This enables them to take intellectual risks, persevere through challenge and experience success both academically and personally.
Our approach reflects a simple belief: when wellbeing is secure, learning can flourish.
Wellbeing is woven into out students' everyday life. From the classroom to tutor time, assemblies to co-curricular activities, students experience a consistent culture of care and high expectations.
Our pastoral teams, teachers and specialist counsellors work closely together to ensure every child is known, heard and supported. Personal, Social and Moral Education lessons, restorative conversations and wellbeing focused initiatives help students develop emotional awareness, healthy routines and positive coping strategies.
This consistent, joined up approach ensures wellbeing support is timely, meaningful and tailored to each student’s needs.
Student voice plays a key role in shaping students' wellbeing. We actively empower young people to lead, contribute and support one another through structured and meaningful opportunities.
Initiatives such as Student Mental Health First Aiders, CAS and BISAD Diploma Ambassadors, and student led wellbeing events allow students to take responsibility, build empathy and create positive change within our community. These roles are carefully supported, trained and guided by staff, ensuring a safe and sustainable model of peer support.
By trusting students to lead with purpose, we strengthen connection, reduce stigma and build a culture where wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility.
Watch how this student‑led approach to wellbeing comes to life across our school community, recognised in 2026 with the MENA Award for Student Wellbeing.
Wellbeing is closely linked to purpose. Helping students understand what motivates them, what matters to them, and how they can grow through challenge is central to our approach.
From reflective conversations in Primary to deeper exploration of values, goals and identity in Secondary, we support students in developing self awareness, resilience and a sense of direction. Practical life skills such as emotional regulation, time management and problem solving are taught explicitly, helping students navigate both academic demands and personal challenges with confidence.
Purpose gives direction, builds motivation and strengthens wellbeing at every stage of a student’s journey.
Wellbeing is lived through everyday experiences across our school, shaping a culture that equips our learners with the skills they need to thrive in life.
Sport empowers students by building their confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. Our partnership with IMG Academy – the global leader in sports education – unlocks transformational opportunities for learners to develop these skills and to redefine what success looks like, both on and off the pitch.
Through IMG, our students benefit from world-class specialist training, which enhances sporting performance, develops leadership qualities, and supports physical and mental health. This sets them up to succeed, equipping them with the skills to excel on the field, in the classroom, and in life beyond our campuses.
Wellbeing is embedded into everyday classroom life. Our teachers create calm, inclusive environments where students feel safe, known and confident to take part. Strong relationships and consistent routines help classrooms become spaces where students feel comfortable sharing ideas and asking for support.
Teaching is responsive and personalised, reflecting each student's needs, strengths and learning style. Regular check‑ins, age‑appropriate reflection and thoughtful feedback support motivation while building independence and confidence. Wellbeing is woven into learning itself, shaping the way students engage, progress and succeed each day.
Our teachers understand that student success is closely connected to wellbeing. By creating inclusive, respectful and high‑expectation learning environments, they help students feel confident, motivated and ready to learn.
In practice, this means teachers:
Through these everyday actions, wellbeing becomes part of how learning is experienced, not something separate from it.
Students learn best when their emotional and social development is supported alongside their academic growth. Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment allows children and young people to build confidence, develop positive relationships and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Support is woven into everyday school life through caring relationships, consistent pastoral guidance and opportunities for students to reflect, connect and contribute. Mentoring, wellbeing‑focused lessons and shared projects help students develop emotional awareness, empathy and social skills over time.
Leadership opportunities, service initiatives and student‑led wellbeing events encourage young people to take responsibility, understand different perspectives and contribute positively to the school community. Together, these experiences help students grow into confident, compassionate and resilient individuals, prepared for life beyond the classroom.
Our approach is informed by a strong body of international research shared across the Nord Anglia Education family of schools. Extensive evidence shows that students who are happy and healthy are more engaged and achieve stronger academic outcomes, something we see reflected in our classrooms and in students' progress over time.
A recent impact study conducted by the University of Oxford found a clear correlation between wellbeing and academic attainment, drawing on research commissioned in a wide range of countries.
The study also found strong, longitudinal evidence connecting wellbeing with other important outcomes, including classroom engagement, transitions from Primary to Secondary, and long-term academic success.
