Our profile this week is Kathryn Trowbridge, our Secondary Learning Centre Librarian.

In line with Health and Safety requirements, we must conduct two lockdown drills each school year. We have reviewed our calendars and have decided to hold the first drill for this year on Wednesday 18th September 2019.

In order to enable more students to be able to access after-school CCAs, we will be continuing to offer a CCA bus service during the Academic Year 2019-2020.

Students at both IB and IGCSE have achieved outstanding results and it is such a reward for their hard work as well as acknowledgement of the fantastic support from their teachers and parents.

Our profile this week is Denise Kelly, a French Teacher from the Modern Foreign Languages Department.

We are pleased to once again be offering a comprehensive programme of Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) in Term 1, for students in Years 1 - 13.

Year 12 students Solenn, Asim and Omar have represented The British International School Abu Dhabi at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in New York City. It was a productive week of learning about and discussing the Global Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Congratulations to BIS Abu Dhabi 2018/19 graduates for their record-breaking IB Diploma results!

Each year, the capstone event with UNICEF is when students from Years 10-12 visit New York for the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit. Three students from The British International School Abu Dhabi will represent the school.

So we reach the end of yet another busy and successful year at the British International School Abu Dhabi. It is a time for reflection and celebration as students, parents and teachers get to relive the achievements of the year.

In line with the Global focus on World Ocean Month this June and Plastic Free July, our Student Service Leaders (the Eco Explorer Team), have been promoting the importance of recycling and reducing our use of plastic in school this term.

Neptune Swimming Academy are taking bookings for swimming lessons at the school for Term 1.

Our profile this week is Mary Ann Ruiz, one of our Team Leaders from the school’s cleaning provider ADNH Compass.

Our Little Stars performed their final showpiece last week. It all started way back in September, where the students played drama games, learned songs and developed their growing love for the performing arts!

Student Service Leaders at The British International School Abu Dhabi decided that it would be a nice idea if students in our school showed their appreciation and got to know our support staff better.
