Meet Katie Haake, Year 5 teacher at the School:

How long have your children been at BIS Abu Dhabi? 
I have 2 beautiful daughters– Avah, who is in Year 4 and Lilli, who is in Year 1. We all started BIS Abu Dhabi together in August 2020.
 
Where is “home” for you?
‘Home is not a place, it is a feeling’ I truly believe in this quote, as long as I am surrounded by my loved ones, home could be anywhere in the world. That being said,  I am originally from a wonderful city called Liverpool in England and I am incredibly proud of where I come from.
 
What do you do in Abu Dhabi?
We have a wonderful group of friends, who have become more like family, and we love spending our weekends visiting the Yas Parks and relaxing at The Club.
 
What brought your family to Abu Dhabi?
 A thirst for life! I embrace challenge and wanted to gain experience of teaching and learning in an international setting. 

Tell us something that few people know about you: 
I really enjoy running and I am currently training hard to run 10k!
 
What is your favourite thing about being a part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community?
We really are like one big family; I love how welcoming everyone is!
 
What tips or advice would you give to new families joining BIS Abu Dhabi?
You will become a part of the most wonderful and welcoming community – so grab every opportunity with both hands. 
 
What do you enjoy most about living in Abu Dhabi?
For me, the main thing is that I can give my children the most wonderful life. We are all extremely lucky to be a part of BIS Abu Dhabi and after a week of working hard, our weekends are like a holiday!
