Creative Thinkers and Visual Artists – Global Campus Visual Arts Competition update Congratulations to all BIS Abu Dhabi students who recently undertook the challenge to create an artwork inspired by the key advocacy themes of Climate Change, Education, Well-being or Vaccinations, set by our Global Campus team for the 2022 Visual Arts Competition. Congratulations to all BIS Abu Dhabi students who recently undertook the challenge to create an artwork inspired by the key advocacy themes of Climate Change, Education, Well-being or Vaccinations, set by our Global Campus team for the 2022 Visual Arts Competition.

We were super impressed with the range of ideas, art medias and techniques students used to create their artwork submissions. The thoughtfulness with which students wrote about the importance of their advocacy areas, and how this was represented within their artworks, was also a testament to how our students embody the school values of kindness, honesty and respect towards each other and the planet.

Although we would have loved to have been able to enter all our received submissions for the competition, only one student could be selected to be put forward for the next round for each of the four age categories. Please see our video below, celebrating the efforts of all our students who submitted an entry, revealing the ‘runners up’ and those shortlisted to be submitted for their age category onto our Global Campus Platform – a really well done to you all!

To find out a bit more about the thinking and concept behind one of our shortlisted finalists, Kyeong-Min from Year 11, please click here. Kyeong writes about her artwork inspired by science and the advocacy area of ‘Vaccinations’.

All students who entered the competitions will receive a certificate of achievement, 5 House Points and a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award (see video for appropriate level) if submitted as evidence for their BISAD Diploma for the ‘Arts’ Category.

Here’s wishing our BISAD Visual Arts Competition Global Campus nominees, the very best of luck in the next round of the competition!
