Giving the gift of life

Giving back and giving the gift of life!

Blood Drive Success | Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center

A huge thank you to Year 12 students Valentina, Ellie, and Ceara for their exceptional leadership in organizing this year’s Blood Drive, as part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) project. Their dedication to community action and service, in partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, has made a profound impact on the lives of others.

We are thrilled to share the incredible outcome of their efforts, along with a special recognition from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center:

“The students are absolutely incredible and did an amazing job. They brought in 44 donors, collected 47 donations, and have the potential to save up to 132 lives – just remarkable! The previous school record was 33 donors, and their goal for this drive was 30. They exceeded all expectations, doing so with grace and humility. I could not be more impressed with these young women, who made this such a success.

On average, it takes 3 days to process blood donations, which meant the blood began reaching hospitals on Thanksgiving Day. As I told the students, there’s no more selfless gift than giving life to those in need, especially at a time when many are at home with their families. They gave the gift of life to those suffering, and I am in awe of all of them.”

This initiative was a powerful example of how community action and service can make a real difference. Through their dedication to this cause, Valentina, Ellie, and Ceara have not only contributed to a lifesaving mission but also demonstrated the true spirit of service that the CAS program encourages.

We are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment, and we thank everyone who supported the drive to make it a resounding success.
