A Global Leader in Student Support
Dr Carol Stead brings decades of international experience to BIS Houston. A lifelong educator, researcher, and global citizen, she has worked with schools across Latin America, North America, and Asia to transform support for diverse learners. Holding a doctorate in education, a master’s in psychology, US certification in special education, and a CPT3A certification in the UK, Carol brings a deep understanding of both special education and multicultural contexts. She believes that educators are true difference makers in the lives of young people.
Her leadership strengthens our commitment to building a school where every child is seen, known, and supported.

Dr Stead works alongside a highly skilled and committed Learning Support Team: Amanda Martin, Andrea Mackenzie, Rachel Guzman, Padraig Mulligan, and Arwen Celauro. The team brings over 115 years of collective experience in teaching, learning support, and inclusive education.
United by a shared commitment to excellence, the Learning Support Team drives a highly personalised and high-quality service for the students they serve. The team collaborates closely with teachers, parents, and students to create learning pathways that reflect each child’s strengths, needs, and aspirations.
