This year our Christmas production was called Shine Star Shine, a truly magical retelling of the nativity story about a big Star that needs strength to shine.

This month I would like to introduce Miss Lelo Mphofu, our Nursery teacher and Mrs Jennifer Huang, our specialist teacher, who organised and led our team and students to a wonderful performance.

Miss Lelo has an honours degree in Psychology and specialised in Child developmental psychology. She has recently completed her Masters’ degree International Education at Leicester University with a focus on Inclusive education. She has two years professional teaching experience and 5 years volunteer teaching experience. She hase received IB training and Montessori training which has helped as wekk shape her teaching technics.

Mrs Jennifer graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting from Northeastern University in Boston, America. She studied and lived in the U.S. for six years and during her internship she worked with different people in different companies, she then discovered her passion for working with younger children. After she graduated, she returned to China and worked as Teacher assistant for one year in Reception Class at BSN. Then she completed Teaching certificate, English for Primary, in Nanjing and has been teaching Chinese and Music as an Early Years Specialist. Jennifer learnt to play piano when was a young child and has worked on the EYFS Christmas show for the last three years.

The Christmas show organised and led by Miss Lelo and Mrs Jennifer, was absolutely magnificent.  The story starts with the big star having to show the way to the stable where a special baby has been born - but he just can't shine. The shepherds and kings can’t find their way to the stable because they cannot find the star. Fortunately, all the other stars lead the big star to the stable where he sees Mary, Joseph and the beautiful baby. He realises that Jesus loves all the stars, angels and people of the world and this love gives the big star the strength to shine again.

The children sang six catchy songs and performed their parts with great enthusiasm! We held one performance for our parents and carers and another for the primary school pupils.

The children and their teachers worked really hard to prepare for their Christmas Production. Thank you for supporting us by practising the songs and words at home, with costumes, props and set up. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
