On Monday 28th February, children’s illustrator and author, Anita Toncheva-Niasi, visited the school as part of our celebration of Book Week. Anita, is the author of “Adventures of Lilly, the Little Turtle” and the animator behind the “Adventures of Lilly” on YouTube. Anita ran workshops with children in Years 3, 4 and 5, sharing her own journey and inspiration and helping students to create their own characters (based upon the English alphabet) as she does for her own “Claymation” animated series, teaching the Bulgarian alphabet.
Ms Wilson, one of the organisers of Book Week whose Year 5 students took part in a workshop, said “the children absolutely loved the day. The workshops were inspirational!”
Anita Toncheva-Niasi is one of five authors, journalists, illustrators and publishers visiting the school during Book Week, offering workshops, presentations and talks to students throughout the school, including acclaimed Chinese novelist, Su Tong.
