On the 10th November every year millions of us celebrate World Science Day.

"The scientist is not the person who gives the right answers, they are the ones who ask the right questions."

What is World Science Day?

World Science Day is an occasion that draws attention to the importance of scientific work and interests the public in emerging scientific issues – for example, artificial intelligence or renewable energy.

World Science Day also highlights the relevance of science to our lives. We are increasingly surrounded by technology and World Science Day aims to use this to inspire people to participate in scientific activities.

UNESCO, the organisers of the event, also see it as an opportunity to engage the scientific community, so that scientists will be empowered to work together globally for the benefit of all.

At BST we celebrate Science on a daily basis;

  •  by promoting active involvement of students and teachers in science related activities, like our Science week at the end of October, STEAM Day and After school STEM club.
  • encourage students to ask questions and to get doubts cleared in different areas of science and promote their effective participation.
  •  enable students to know about the latest developments in the fields of Science and Technology, with a Science in the News display board and WebQuests to encourage students to explore Science on their own.
  •  encourage scientific thinking with practical demonstrations and experiments.
