Students from The British School of Tashkent (BST) achieved outstanding success at the 2026 NEO Science Olympiad, an international competition that brings together young scientists, innovators and problem solvers from across the world.

The grand final, held from 9–16 January in Orlando, USA, brought together students from more than 21 countries to compete in a challenging and inspiring academic environment. Alongside rigorous competition, participants engaged in hands-on scientific challenges and explored real-world applications of STEM through interactive experiences and visits to leading institutions.

A celebration of talent and determination

BST students demonstrated excellence across a wide range of disciplines, including mathematics, natural sciences, artificial intelligence, c, physics, chemistry, biology and DIY projects. Their achievements reflect not only strong subject knowledge, but also creativity, critical thinking and resilience - qualities that are central to learning at BST.

In total, BST students earned 44 medals and 10 honourable mentions, including:

  • 21 Gold Medals
  • 11 Silver Medals
  • 12 Bronze Medals

These exceptional results place The British School of Tashkent among the top-performing schools in the world at this year’s Olympiad.

Learning on a global stage

Renowned for its interdisciplinary approach, the NEO Science Olympiad challenges students to apply scientific and mathematical concepts to authentic, real-world problems. For BST participants, the experience extended well beyond the competition itself, offering opportunities to collaborate with international peers, explore advanced STEM applications, and develop skills that support future academic and career pathways.

This global experience strongly reflects Nord Anglia Education’s commitment to developing confident, internationally minded learners equipped to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Recognising curiosity and commitment

We are immensely proud of every BST student who took part in the Olympiad. Their curiosity, dedication and willingness to challenge themselves have resulted in outstanding international recognition and meaningful learning experiences that will stay with them well beyond the event.

These achievements are also a testament to the expertise and commitment of BST’s teaching staff, whose guidance and encouragement continue to inspire students to pursue excellence across science, mathematics and innovation.

Looking ahead

The success of BST students at the 2026 NEO Science Olympiad highlights the strength of academic learning at The British School of Tashkent and reinforces the school’s commitment to providing opportunities for students to engage and excel on a global stage.
