The IGCSE Certificate Presentation Evening for our BVIS students took place on Thursday 21st November 2019. Each year, we seek to honour and celebrate the academic success of our students after their IGCSE examination. It is a highly academically challenging qualification and an excellent preparation for students before they embark on the A Level examinations, and entry into universities of their choice.

The IGCSE Award Ceremony was held at in the Secondary Auditorium where parents, teachers and special guests attended to celebrate the achievements of the 78 students. This was a precious time for students, parents and teachers to meet and talk.

We were also extremely delighted to hand out certificates to two “Top in Country” students: Kim YeonOo and Nam HoSeong achieved the highest possible marks in Additional Mathematics and Geography respectively. Above all, these results are the culmination of the hard work and dedication of our students, our ambitious approach and the support of our excellent teachers. This recognition of the outstanding achievements of the students is thoroughly deserved and we congratulate them most warmly.

Mr. Mark Sayer – Principal declared: “It is important to remember that not one of the students in our international school setting is a a native English speaker. All of the students are performing at optimal levels to maximise their life chances. This Certificate Evening rightly recognises the focus and passion for learning, the hard work and determination to succeed. It also shows the maturity our students have in preparing themselves for the next stage of their lives, in moving on to A Levels and their university choices. Congratulations to the students, firstly, and to the dedicated teachers who have assisted them.”

Ms. Lisa Shuttleworth-Brown – Head of Secondary said: “The IGCSE Awards Evening was a super way of celebrating all that the students have achieved. To gain their IGCSEs, they have all worked incredibly hard and it is important for the school to show them how proud we are of their achievements.”
