He is deeply committed to inspiring students through innovative STEM education and believes that every learner is a unique individual capable of achieving excellence.

Allan's path to teaching was sparked by his experience mentoring staff during his career in IT retail management. This passion for nurturing others led him to pursue a teaching qualification at the Griffith University, where he majored in Mathematics and Physics and graduated with exceptional academic honours, including three consecutive Griffith Awards for Academic Excellence. His strong subject knowledge across advanced physics, mathematics, and engineering principles allows him to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for students of all abilities.

Allan's teaching philosophy centres on clear communication of learning objectives, collaborative learning, and the creative use of technology to explore real-world problems. He fosters classrooms where students feel empowered to take risks, support one another, and develop the critical thinking skills needed for their future endeavours.

Having lived and taught across three continents, Allan is thrilled to make Vietnam his new home and contribute to the vibrant BVIS community. Outside the classroom, he enjoys discovering new cultures, sampling local cuisine, and exploring the outdoors. Apart from his Aussies accent, he also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.
