Ciara Shannon

Year 2 Teacher
Ciara Shannon - Ciara Louise Shannon

• Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, St. Mary´s University Twickenham, London

Ciara is a dedicated and passionate teacher from Ireland, who strives to nurture both children´s academic and emotional growth. Ciara has a particular interest in English as an Additional Language (EAL) teaching, believing strongly in the importance of providing linguistic support to children. Her philosophy is based on the idea that fostering emotional maturity is as crucial as academic achievement, ensuring that her students grow into well-rounded individuals.

Ciara has a love for languages and speaks Spanish fluently, after working as a Reception teacher in Madrid, Spain for 3 years. She also worked in a public school in London for two years, where the children came from diverse backgrounds, with the majority speaking English and an Additional Language. This allows also her to connect with EAL students on a deeper level, making her classroom a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

Outside the classroom, Ciara enjoys skateboarding, drawing, and most of all traveling. She cannot wait to see lots of new places and learn some Vietnamese!
