David Williams - David John Williams

• BA of Arts in International Studies
• PGCE in Secondary Education

David has been working education for over 10 years and has been a Secondary Geography specialist for the last 7 years. David is interested in education with a global perspective and believes Geography is the best subject to bridge our understanding of the world with solutions to contemporary issues.

David has held a variety of roles in his previous school including Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award Manager, Whole school curriculum leader for Citizenship, Internationalism and Finance education. David has been a subject lead mentor for trainee teachers working with several universities.

David is a strong believer in the benefits that outdoor adventure activities have on young people and supports many extra curricula experiences and trips. David has led trips to Iceland, Switzerland and France alongside trips in the UK. David hopes to contribute to the wider school life at BVIS, including the continued development of the International DofE award in his new role as DofE coordinator.

Outside of the classroom, David enjoys travelling to new places. Over the years, top highlights include a month backpacking in Vietnam, exploring the urban centres of Japan, outdoor adventure in the Canadian Rockies and camping in the Sahara Desert. David hopes to spend more time hiking, rock climbing and exploring the hidden gems in Central and Southeast Asia.
