PGCE Business Studies Economics- University of Worcester, UK
Economics Degree, Open University, UK
Edward Eveniss comes from London in the UK.
After a career in business, Edward fulfilled a long-held desire to become a teacher. To this end he completed a PGCE at Worcester University, specializing in the teaching of Economics and Business Studies.
Edward subsequently moved to China and taught there from 2010 until the Summer of 2022 (primarily in Xiían, Hangzhou and Nanjing). During this time, he also became an IELTS speaking and writing test examiner and, as an extension of this role, he helped to administer the selection process for sending Chinese teachers overseas to promote the use of Mandarin.
Edward has held several positions of responsibility during his decade of teaching, including: examiner (IB Economics), head of department (Xiían) and centre principal (Nanjing) and he looks to bring the benefits of this range of experiences to bear in his daily teaching practice and to thus better the learning outcomes of students.
The rewards he gets from teaching that he values the most are those that come from working with the enthusiastic and agile minds of his students, and in helping them to achieve their potential in their school lives and beyond. Edward is pleased to say that he has been able to achieve outstanding results with students and he looks forward to continuing this at BVIS Hanoi.
Edward got married to a Thai lady and has a house in the countryside in Thailand too. Edward and his wife are both delighted to have an opportunity to live and work in Hanoi and look forward to learning more about Vietnamese language and culture as they do so.
In his spare time he enjoys cycling, travel and occasional trips to the movies. He has also developed an interest in agriculture, and is currently growing an ever-increasing number of fruits that are common throughout SE Asia in the garden of his home.
