Karen Hunnisett is a passionate and experienced educator with over 25 years of teaching experience, specialising primarily in Early Years education. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to creating warm, engaging, and inspiring learning environments where young children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

Karen firmly believes that an exemplary Early Years experience provides the foundation for future success and achievement. Her approach centres around nurturing each child’s confidence, curiosity, and individuality, while ensuring that classrooms are filled with love, laughter, and meaningful opportunities for learning through play and exploration.

Alongside her work in the classroom, Karen has supported fellow Early Years practitioners through professional development, sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for high-quality Early Years practice. She values collaboration and enjoys helping others grow in confidence and skill as educators.

Karen brings warmth, creativity, and a strong understanding of child development into all aspects of her teaching and leadership. She is committed to building positive relationships with children and families, creating inclusive environments where every child feels encouraged to thrive.

Outside of school, Karen loves to read and travel, always enjoying the chance to discover new places and experiences. She also believes you can never beat a bit of fancy dress, bringing fun, humour, and personality into both life and learning whenever possible.
