Mary completed her English literature degree at Cardiff University before discovering her love for Vietnam when she first moved to Ho Chi Minh City 7 years ago. Following a return to the UK to teach for 3 years, Mary has spent the last few years teaching in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and has taken on the role of KS3 English Coordinator. As an advocate for the empowering nature of literature, Mary believes that it allows us to connect on a shared level of humanity and encourages empathy towards others. Her personal favorite genre is dystopian literature, as it stimulates meaningful discussions on current societal issues.
In her free time, Mary enjoys reading, photography, cooking, and working out in the gym. She cherishes her time in Vietnam and is eagerly looking forward to returning to the capital to live and to explore the country further.
