Our Key Stage 3 curriculum
Our 11 to 14-year-old students follow the English National Curriculum. This provides the perfect blend of challenge and support, helping our students successfully transition from primary to the IGCSE.
At this point in their learning, we focus on the continued development of core literacy, numeracy, and scientific skills. In all our lessons, students are challenged to solve problems and explore ideas from different perspectives, while cross-curricular projects test their analytical and critical thinking skills.
Our teachers prioritise personalised learning. Your child will benefit from extraordinary experiences that play to their strengths and broaden their interests. Lessons incorporate local, national, and global issues, too, increasing our students’ cultural understanding.
Importantly, teachers instil confidence in our students, which helps them work with others, take the lead, and become independent learners. This prepares them for the personal, social and academic challenges of the IGCSE and IBDP.
Our IGCSE curriculum
Our 14 to 16-year-old students study for their IGCSEs.
Your child will follow a tailored curriculum based on their academic strengths and interests, as well as their aspirations for the future. All our students study English, Maths, and Science. Your child will then choose options from subjects including Business studies, Geography, History, French, Art, Drama, and Music.
Our teachers will guide your child through the decision-making process, which starts in Year 9. PSHE lessons, taster sessions, careers assemblies and options evenings will give your child the guidance they need to pick subjects that are right for them.
Lessons are taught by specialist teachers who are truly passionate about what they do. Our expert educators deliver outstanding learning experiences that unlock our students’ potential and inspire them to get outstanding results.
