In Maths this week, Year 3 have been learning about measures. We have had lots of practical opportunities to measure both length and weight by selecting our own equipment appropriate to the object being measured. We have focused on being able to convert measures using correct units and practicing using the correct vocabulary to describe what we have done.
“I know there are 10mm in 1cm and there are 100cm in 1m!”
“My pencil was 9cm 4mm, this is 9.4cm or 94mm”
“Bag A weighed 110g or 0.1kg but bag D was heavier, it was 0.5kg which means it is 500g!”
We have also explored games and activities on www.educationcity.com (‘measure of success’ and ‘space city’) and www.myimaths.com. Don’t forget to checkout your homework on myimaths!
