First to go were the Year 1 and 2s who all made a superb effort in circumnavigating the School track. Yes, there were winners, but what amazed all the spectators was seeing those children who kept going and who never gave up.
This ethos continued into the latter stages of the competition when Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 negotiated the school playgrounds as well as the public park, which lies next to the School. Thankfully our hi-visibility attired teachers ensured nobody got lost on the slides or the swings.
The winner of each race earned him or herself 20 House Points, followed by 15, 10 and 5 points for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.
However, the real winners were the runners and that means everyone. Grit and determination were in abundance in all Primary children that day.
Well done all.
