Later this term Year 9 & 12 students will head off for our third service trip to Tanzania. This has proven in the past to be a life changing experience for many and we know our students will gain many new skills and ideas from their visit.
Online on the redesigned Global Campus you can find a Parent Area, subject specific areas to extend and enrichment your knowledge and understanding, and information about all our competitions and challenges.
Next week we will hold a special Parent Meeting on Thursday 28 January at 08:30-09:30 in the School Library at Peknikova 6. All parents are warmly invited to this meeting to find out more about the in-school, online and worldwide opportunities offered to our students via the Global Campus.
This year’s Global Campus Debate League is well underway. This is a competition we have done very well in previously. In 2014 we were the Debate League Champions and in 2015 our Lower Secondary team were Finalists. This year we have teams representing Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary and we look forward to sharing their progress with you.
Also ongoing is the annual Creative Writing Competition. Launching next week we also have the Global Campus William Shakespeare Global Theatre Challenge for both primary and secondary students.
Next week will also see us launching the exciting annual Big Challenge competition in which all Nord Anglia Education’s 42 schools can participate. This year’s challenge – to design and build a Rube Goldberg machine will be particularly exciting for all our young designers, scientists and engineers across the school.
New this year on the Global Campus is the special Under 8’s area. This offers us the opportunity to provide our youngest students with experience of online learning and collaboration as they document and share their activities with Norman Jupiter Bear, a young bear travelling around as many of our Family of schools as he can this year. Our Year 2 students have been writing letters to him inviting him to visit us in Bratislava. Norman Jupiter has travelled from China and arrived in School today and we will be documenting his Slovak experiences on twitter and on the Global Campus.
If you would like to learn more about the Global Campus and the unique opportunities it offers our students to collaborate, compete, learn and share in a safe, online environment, please come to our meeting next Wednesday, 27 January at 08:30 in the School Library.
