This was probably the best I have ever seen 6C work in terms of attitude and positivity. I asked the students at the end of the week to rate themselves again along with reasons why. I think the comments speak for themselves.
Jan said ‘I rated myself a 10 – this is my favourite activity and I was really pleased when members of the class said I had really good football skills. I said thank you and thought about what I could do to help them enjoy football more’. I was also thinking about passing more to my team mates rather than just keeping the ball for myself. Yeji had said that she didn’t like football so I was trying to pass to her to give her confidence.
Nik said ‘I like football so I rated myself a 7. But my score went up because I really enjoyed the last two lessons. Jan kept giving me ideas of what I could do on the pitch and he really encouraged me, it made me feel good. So I thought I would do the same. I saw Zuzana make a really good block so I shouted ‘wow brilliant! I rate football a 9 now.
Auguste said ‘I was a goal keeper so sometimes you get shouted at or feel bad if you let a goal in. But my team said ‘don’t worry it was a good shot’, or ‘unlucky Auguste you nearly saved it’. This made me want to carry on as goalkeeper and I liked it when they mentioned a good save’.
Maddy also mentioned that her football rating had gone up by two points from 5-7.
Keep up the encouragement 6C!
