Lights, Camera, Action!
Last week, all the recent hard work, enthusiasm and creative efforts came together in the culmination of the Year 3 show – Pirates vs Mermaids!!! The children really enjoyed exploring the story of two rival sea crews. The trainee pirates had a big problem, they needed to learn to swim to pass their AAArrrrr levels, so they had to ask their enemies, the Mermaids, who were the best swimmers in the world, to help them. Year 3 did a mighty job to learn lines and lyrics, remember stage directions, and use gesture and expression. It has been a wonderful process watching their confidence develop as they explore their roles. Here’s what a few children had to say:
“It was so much fun!!!”
“I loved the costumes, the lights and the glitter!!!”
“Sometimes it was really hard to remember everything but we worked together to do the best show ever!”
“I absolutely loved it all!”
“I can’t wait to be in the next show”
“Hello Sausage!”
Thank you once again to the parents for helping children remember their lines and provide costumes.
