Digging Deep 12 May 2016 To kick-start their new topic, Year 4A carried out an archaeological dig. During the dig the children learnt how to excavate items carefully. This was for their own safety as well as the protection of their finds. The children learnt that older items would be buried deeper in the ground than newer items. The children had a great time on the dig and uncovered a range of exciting finds. These included: plastic bottles; jewellery; coins and even a Roman mosaic! We will be using these finds to help with our topic and the children will be writing a report about their dig.
