Year 7 Geography Trip - Dubravka Urban Study

24 October 2017

In the week beginning Monday 16th October Year 7 students headed out into the streets around school to study the locality. They completed an environmental quality survey. They recorded things such as how clean and noisy the area is, land use etc.

As well as this, they completed a traffic survey, wherein they counted the number of vehicles that went past in 3 minutes. They did this at five different sites around the school locality. This fieldwork and collection of data will lead to the students analysing and evaluating evidence they have gathered and then presenting their findings in the form of a report detailing the environment of Dubravka.

It must be said that all of the students were well behaved and hardworking throughout the trip. They were a credit to themselves and to BISB. They all really showed that they had learnt how to record information when out in the field collecting data.
