Each class had their own expert guide who walked them through the ‘Rainforest’ explaining the complexities of the created eco system and all the animals within.
The students then had the opportunity to ask questions and experience what life is like within a rainforest habitat. The students saw huge flying foxes (a type of bat), the largest recorded blooming flower species and unique amphibian mudskippers hidden in the mangroves.
The students also had the opportunity to observe many of the other animals housed in Vienna zoo, notably the orangutans and sea lions.
The trip was a success and all the students are really excited and keen to start learning more about the rainforests in the classroom.
