Art is essential for children to think independently; to increase their confidence, concentration, and self-esteem and to improve their fine-motor skills. It strengthens problem-solving and critical thinking. We incorporate Art into our curriculum to support all of these skills, allowing children to express themselves through their creativity. We have had so much fun learning new art skills over the last few weeks. The children have found out what happens when we mix colours using paint, food colouring and inks. We learned how to do marbling and used the printing press to create some amazing prints. Art is also about using different tools, and we particularly enjoyed using the potato mashers to paint with.
