Over the next two weeks Year 7 to 11 are exploring what it means to be internationally-minded during PSHCE and Active Tutor Time. In addition to this, Secondary students can also get involved in our International Day in the following ways:
We encourage all students to come to school dressed in an international themed costume on 26thOctober – this could be national dress, the colours of their flag, or something more creative. Outfits need not necessarily reflect your own nationality, but obviously they can if you like. Please note that all outfits should be appropriate for wear in school.
International Food Buffet
As in previous years, there will be an international buffet set up in the big gym which the students are invited to on a rotational basis. Here they sample delights from around the world. There are 46 nationalities represented at BISB, the emphasis is on trying foods from around the world. Students will be able to get lunch as normal if they wish to. All contributions are gratefully received. Please see the attached information leaflet from the PTA with all the details about the International Food Buffet.
International Country Parade
The whole school; Early Years, Primary and Secondary will parade their costumes in a celebratory parade from 11.45-12.15pm.
Students are encouraged to bring a flag from their country (homemade or bought) which they can wave at the parade.
I am sure it will be a thoroughly enjoyable day!
