Outdoor Learning

17 April 2018

The children in Reception have loved their outdoor learning time this week in the sunshine! They have been exploring and found lots of insects and snails!

They built homes for the insects and fed them with plants. Linked to this they also set up a kitchen area and used plants, mud and stones to represent their food and made an oven to cook their food in. This encouraged lots of talking to each other about what they like to eat! We also discussed what insects eat! They talked about their own experiences and used mathematical language to do with measure. After this discussion we decided to plant and hopefully grow some of our own vegetables and fruit!
