All Year 9 pupils competed in the first round of the contest in their English lessons, working in groups of three – a chair person, a main speaker, and a vote of thanks – to write and present a persuasive/informative speech on a topic of their choice.
Within each of the 3 English classes there were outstanding deliveries, yet only one team from each class went through to the grand final judged by Mrs Eastwood, Mr Hatherell and Mrs Warmington. Congratulations to the winners and all the finalists listed below for their excellent performances.
