Student success –Piano

Our Year 7 student, Ryan, performed at the Aarhus International Piano Competition in Denmark. Even though he was one of the youngest participants in his category (up to 16 yrs old), he was awarded 3 prizes;  second prize, the audience prize (only one awarded for both categories) and the Carl Nielsen prize. Ryan also has concert engagements in Denmark. 

The Aarhus Competition is one of the most highly rated in the world with the best young pianists worldwide participating, including the prizewinners of competitions such as Van Cliburn junior, Ettlingen, Gina Bachauer etc. Some participants are from famous music schools such as the Curtis Institute of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, etc. The Jury members were famous pianists who are also jury members of the biggest competitions, such as the Chopin competition in Warsaw for adults.

Attending the concert of the winners were about 1000 people, including the Minister of Culture and the Mayor of Aarhus.
