After a short bus journey to the camp, we dropped off our bags, slathered ourselves in sun cream, filled our water bottles and began the hike up the hillside to the abandoned quarry site. There we did a variety of Ancient Greek themed activities. Then we continued our hike up to the castle ruins where we took part in a variety of activities including climbing, orienteering and slacklining, which meant we could draw on our creative, collaborative and leadership qualities. After the hike back down we had our evening meal followed by our camp fire and night walk through the forest.
The next day we were up bright and early to learn about the Olympic Games and participate in some recreation of those sports. We were ready for lunch and we had some free time in the lovely hotel grounds before the bus collected us and brought us back to school. We had a great time and can’t wait for the next camp in Year Four.
Year 3 Team.
