MUN

Geneva MUN Conference Trip

From 6 - 9th February, our KS3 MUN Team attended the second annual NA Junior MUN Conference at LCIS in Geneva, Switzerland.

The trip began with an inspiring tour of the United Nations HQ, which included a walk to the wide, open square of the Place des Nations, home of the renowned Broken Chair, before a visit to the Grand Assembly Hall.

The next morning consisted of debating workshops and ice-breaker activities at LCIS, followed by two days of enthusiastic, high-quality, engaging debates. Our BISB students delivered excellent, impassioned opening speeches, and each team member enjoyed collaborating with their fellow international students in finding solutions to complex global issues.

Months of research, preparation and dedication were truly rewarded - our fantastic KS3 students were exemplary representatives of our school and should be extremely proud of their many achievements!

“I really enjoyed the MUN trip because I met new people who were really good and experienced in debating and making speeches, which inspired me.” - Jasmine O., 7SO.

“It was a valuable experience to meet different people across the globe that share various ideas from diverse perspectives. This is experience has enhanced my confidence whilst speaking to a lot of people and made me form better relationships with many people. “ - Yejun Y., 9JW

"On the MUN trip, we've gone to the UN's headquarter, we walked around Geneva, The Friday can be described as an adventurous journey, but on Saturday and Sunday was learning. We debated between different students from other school and we learned the techniques. For example, the delegation of ...... or The delegate will yield the floor back to the chair are all new debating or 'MUN'ing' techniques I've learned. It was fun, a good memory, and a wonderful experience!" - Seohyun K., 9MS.
