Clothing Swap On Friday 5th of November, we held a Clothing Swap at school. A clothing swap is an opportunity for students and staff to clean out their wardrobes, bring in their old clothes and exchange them for something new.

On Friday 5th of November, we held a Clothing Swap at school. A clothing swap is an opportunity for students and staff to clean out their wardrobes, bring in their old clothes and exchange them for something new.

We decided to do this event after taking part in the Trashion show. We were inspired by the use of trash to make clothing and we realised that we had perfectly good clothing that was being treated like trash by not wearing them.

We wanted to educate people about different ways of participating in sustainable fashion and that having a stylish wardrobe can be cheap as well as good for the environment. It was a lot of effort putting this event together, we had to research sustainable fashion, find a location and bring together materials that we needed. We also used this event as an opportunity to create some educational posters about sustainability, fast fashion and how to be sustainable in Slovakia, since we wanted to spread awareness about an important issue

This event wasn’t just an opportunity for people to get new clothes, it was also a way for us to make a charitable donation. We will donate the leftover clothes to DePaul, so that we aren’t creating any waste and so that more people can enjoy the benefits of the swap.
