Michael Shkurka

CAS Coordinator & TOK and Mathematics Teacher

I am excited I could've join the successful Mathematics Department at BISB, as I make the move back to Europe from previous international teaching posts in Jakarta and Shanghai. After studying a Masters in Engineering at Newcastle University in the UK, I now thoroughly enjoy sharing my passion for Maths and its many applications, with students across the secondary school age range. I also like the fun and competitive side of the subject, and enjoy seeing my students actively take part in various competitions.

In my personal time I am an avid fan of all sports, both as a participant and a supporter, and I have a particular love for distance running, triathlons, and racket sports. I also greatly enjoy taking any opportunity to travel and spend time in the outdoors, and am a keen supporter of the International Award programme. When at home I do like to cook and read, and spend as much time as possible with my loving but naughty miniature Dachshund, Hervey.
