Year 1A Teaching and Learning Assistant
Year 1B Class Teacher
I am a passionate teacher with fourteen years teaching experience across the Early Years and KS1 in the UK. I have led many areas within the National Curriculum, including SEND and the Early Years. I am very enthusiastic about guiding young learners in the early stages of their education to enjoy lots of rich and exciting learning opportunities and so I am excited to be part of the team at The British International School, Bratislava.
Year 1B Teaching and Learning Assistant
After graduating from Comenius University with BA from music teaching, I started working as an after-school teacher. I was always surrounded by children. During my studies I was babysitting a lot. I always wanted to work with kids, I find this kind of job very full-filling, motivating, with lot of energy from every side. I think it's very important to give children good education, since they are the next generation.
Year 2A Class Teacher
After graduating from the University of Nottingham, where I studied Modern Foreign Languages, I taught English for a few years in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Year A2 Teaching and Learning Assistant
I moved from Wales to Slovakia six years ago to work as an EAL teacher. I love working with children. Their energy and enthusiasm is infectious and I am passionate about supporting them to reach their full potential. I have experience working in EAL and Special Education both in Slovakia and in Wales. I come from a sporting background and played football, touch rugby and hockey for Wales. I am excited to be working at BISB.
Year 2B Class Teacher
I graduated from the University of Glasgow with an Honours degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology, before going on to complete my PGDE at the University of Strathclyde. I have since then been teaching in Scotland for 7 years and have had the opportunity to teach across all ages of the primary school, within both KS1 and KS2, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have had the responsibility of planning and implementing a whole school primary health week event for the last three years, focusing on fitness, healthy eating and health and wellbeing activities. I enjoy being part of the extra-curricular side of school and was the netball coach at my previous school for the last five years. For the past two years I was fortunate to be involved in the running of a Military Kids’ Club, providing support to children from military families.
