Karen joined BISB from the British International School Vietnam where she had worked for the previous 5 ½ years and which had just received an “outstanding” from British Schools Overseas inspectors. Prior to that Karen was the founding Secondary Headteacher at the Nord Anglia Education's British International School Puxi, Shanghai, China.
Karen is an experienced IB and IGCSE Biology teacher who has high expectations of her own teaching when in a classroom and is keen to push the boundaries with her students learning. Karen priority is to develop the schools record at IB, to make us a centre of excellence in the region and help every single one of our students to achieve at the highest level.
Karen enjoys spending time with her husband. Weekends and evenings are taken up with keeping fit whilst walking our chocolate Labrador which we brought from Vietnam.. She has a daughter who is 23 and who has just graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in Fine Arts and who is applying to do her PGDE to become a Primary school teacher.
